Official Languages
The Organization of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS) recognizes four official languages: English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
These languages reflect the cultural and historical diversity of its Member States, spanning three continents and multiple linguistic regions.
In accordance with Article 38 of the Revised Georgetown Agreement (2021), additional languages may be adopted by decision of the Summit of Heads of State and Government, to strengthen the inclusiveness and representativeness of the Organization.
This linguistic plurality embodies the OACPS’s mission – to promote dialogue, mutual understanding, and cooperation among its peoples, while celebrating the richness of the identities that form its family of nations.
